JOB TITLE:

Assistant Professor

JOB PURPOSE:

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor (tenure-track), to serve the Construction Management program and contribute to the Architectural Engineering program, beginning August 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefited position.

We seek a faculty member who will support the Construction Management and Architectural Engineering programs, through teaching, service and outreach, and research activities. We expect faculty to maintain fundamental expertise, to be aware of leading-edge practices in the industry, and to support student success and career-readiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of the position are:

  • To teach undergraduate courses in Construction Management and Architectural Engineering.
  • To perform scholarly research in Construction Management or Architectural Engineering, including:
    • To secure and complete externally-funded research projects.
    • To disseminate results through scholarly publications and presentations.
    • To recruit, mentor, and advise graduate students.
  • To perform service to the home Department, College, and the University, including accreditation activities, outreach activities, and student mentoring, including mentoring of competition teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, completed by August 2026.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research in Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Ability to teach core undergraduate courses in selected subject areas such as: Architectural Graphics and Construction Documents; Building Information Modeling and Energy Modeling; Building Mechanical Systems; Construction Materials and Structures; Sustainable Design and Construction.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Demonstrated experience writing research proposals for external funding.
  • Clear vision for future research.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Professional work experience in the building industry.
  • Professional licensure or credentialing.

WORK LOCATION:

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.

WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS:

Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position, conditioned on the non-applicability of the fees implemented in 90 FR 46027 to the visa petition.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management includes 24 faculty members and serves approximately 440 students. At the undergraduate level we have ABET-accredited B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering, a B.S. degree in Construction Management, and a Certificate in Cadastral Surveying.
