Position: The University of North Carolina Charlotte invites applications and nominations for a Lecturer to serve as the Athletic Training Clinic Director for Performing Arts and Club Sports. This is a nine-month position with summer teaching opportunities and start date of August 10, 2026.
Description of Work: The AT Clinic Director will provide athletic training services to Performing Arts students & Club Sport athletes for 20 on-campus hours per week, teach two courses in the Department of Applied Physiology, Health, & Clinical Sciences per semester, and provide service to the unit, College, or University.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Candidates will teach two courses each semester (40% workload) within the undergraduate and/or graduate programs in the Department of Applied Physiology, Health, and Clinical Sciences, supporting the instructional mission of the unit. These courses may be face-to-face, online, or hybrid in format. The position also requires 10% of workload toward unit service. Candidates will also provide athletic training Clinic coverage to Performing Arts and to University Recreation (50% workload) which includes administration of injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for 20 hours per week. This position will also liaise with Student Health for referrals when appropriate and track and monitor services provided in order to provide data-driven feedback to units
Required Qualifications & Competencies: Candidates must possess a master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related discipline. NATABOC certification, eligibility for North Carolina licensure, and clinical experience as a certified Athletic Trainer are required.
Ideal Candidates: Candidates with experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Respiratory Therapy, or Sports Analytics at the university level is preferred. Previous experience mentoring undergraduate students is preferred as well as experience with learning management platforms and Anatomy & Physiology teaching technologies.
