Athletics Special Event Coordinator
Position Purpose:
Oakland University Athletics is a Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Our Athletics Department is looking for a highly organized, driven and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Athletics Special Event Coordinator. Under the general direction of the Associate Athletic Director for Administration/SWA, the Athletics Special Events Coordinator provides support to the Athletic Department by coordinating Athletic Special Events and VIP/Donor Suites for Game Day Hospitality. This includes, but is not limited to, Hall of Honor, Black and Gold Awards, Golden Grizzlies Golf Classic, sport specific championships, VIP/Donor Suites for game-day hospitality for men's and women's basketball, oversee a staff of hosts and hostesses, assist in coordination of sport specific fundraising activities and events, and coordinate events with University Advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Previous special event coordination experience, preferably in an Athletics environment.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays along with the ability to participate in athletic activities and events as they relate to event coordination, fundraising and development.
- Experience in training and leading student and casual workers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including ability to interpret basic financial spreadsheets.
- Perform all job duties in accordance with NCAA, Conference and University rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Two years of special event coordination experience in an athletics environment.
- Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures preferred.
