This recruitment is for two 10-Month Tenure Track Positions.
Compensation: Initial salary placement ranges from $67,886 to $106,308, based on education and experience. The maximum annual salary is $142,425.

Representative Duties
- Teaching various courses in the Biology department.
- Working with faculty to design and revise laboratory activities.
- Utilizing state-of-the-art laboratory technology.
- Participating in program and curriculum development, student learning outcomes, assessment, and department planning.
- Teaching scheduled classes and performing related duties, including compliance with policies.
- Engaging in staff development and staying current in biological sciences.
- Serving on committees to support instructional programs.
- Demonstrating sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of students and colleagues.
- Promoting student success through effective course materials and teaching methods.
- Maintaining campus presence for department meetings and activities.
- Providing critical feedback on assignments.
- Participating in assessment, evaluation, and curriculum development.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Master's in any biological science, or Bachelor's in any biological science and Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science, or equivalent. Must have sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students. For details, view the Minimum Qualifications handbook.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of teaching experience in Biology at community college level; Experience with face-to-face and hybrid courses; Strong background in human biology; Experience with cadavers.
Working Environment: Office, classroom, lab, and/or online. May include day, evening, or weekend classes. Requires flexibility for outreach events.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of college-level Biology coursework.
- Ability to use advanced technology in teaching.
- Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively.
- Ability to use LMS platforms like Canvas.
- Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and administration.
- Knowledge of developing course syllabi.
- Knowledge of fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Knowledge of integrating accessible practices into course design.
- Knowledge and ability to teach across multiple modalities while ensuring engagement and accessibility.
- Ability to maintain compliance with accrediting bodies.
- Ability to work effectively in person through communication and collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current in the discipline.
