British Academy ECR Network Project Coordinator (Part Time, Fixed Term)

The Centre for Research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CRASSH) invite applications for Project Coordinator to support the British Academy Early Career Research Network. The expected start date for this role is October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be fixed term until 31 March 2027, in the first instance.

The BA ECRN is an inclusive, researcher-led membership body accessible to all UK-based early career researchers (ECRs) working in the humanities and social sciences, regardless of their funding source or background. The University of Cambridge is the lead delivery partner for the first phase of the BA ECRN East of England Network, working together with the University of East Anglia and Anglia Ruskin University.

The Network Project Coordinator will lead on the management, delivery, and evaluation of the BA ECRN East of England Cluster and support the British Academy in its ambitions to continue its national leadership in early career development support across the Arts and Social Sciences disciplines. The role holder will help the delivery partners to reach beyond their respective institutions to influence the national and international landscape of early career researcher development support. The role holder will work closely with CRASSH, the School of Arts and Humanities, and the BA Early Career Research team as well as the co-delivery partners. The successful candidate will provide administrative, clerical, event, publicity and project financial administration support as required.

Applicants will be educated to degree level/ level 6 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience. The successful candidate will have relevant experience in project administration. The role holder will be numerate, have experience of organising events and good IT skills, including experience with communication platforms such as social media and website management. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, working equally well on their own initiative and as part of a team.

The Network Project Coordinator will be based in CRASSH, which is one of the biggest and most active research centres in Europe with research programmes that produce over 300 research events each year, from high-profile public lectures to small, research-intensive workshops. Line management will be provided by Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Research Facilitation Team, who provide specialist advice and support to researchers who are preparing funding applications.
