Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high-quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.

The Projects and Business Change Team, as the University PMO, provides governance, portfolio oversight and delivery support for the University’s change initiatives.

The PMO is expanding, and we are looking to appoint a Business Analyst. This position will report to the Senior Project Manager and will play a key role in leading business analysis for projects within the University’s portfolio. The role involves working closely with Project Managers, stakeholders and technical and business teams to deliver measurable benefits, improved processes and user-centred solutions aligned to Abertay’s strategic goals.

  • Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst in complex organisations, ideally across the full project lifecycle from discovery to benefits realisation.
  • Proven ability to plan and facilitate discovery activities (workshops, interviews, observations) to clarify problems, scope, constraints and success measures.
  • Experience mapping as-is and designing to-be processes (e.g. BPMN/UML), and leading measurable service/process improvement.
  • Skilled in eliciting, analysing, prioritising and baselining functional and nonfunctional requirements and maintaining end-to-end traceability.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working with technical and business teams and suppliers to shape feasible options and document decisions.
  • Ability to design and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and support transition planning and handover to business as usual (BAU).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and build consensus.

This role benefits from hybrid working arrangements.

If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
