"University Governor: Chair of Risk and Audit Committee"

The University is seeking a new Governor to join the Board of Governors and act as Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee. Governors are appointed for an initial term of three years.

The Board of Governors is responsible for the overall governance of the University, including assurance that the conditions of registration set by the Higher Education regulator are being met. The Board acts in a non-executive capacity and is not involved in day-to-day operations. In addition to duties expected of all University Governors, the Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee plays a key role in risk management, assurance of financial accounting and statutory reporting, and oversight of internal and external audit activities.

The University seeks applicants with proven experience in audit, risk management, and/or finance, ideally in higher education or with knowledge of the sector. A proven ability to work effectively with executive or leadership teams is essential.

The time commitment is approximately twenty-five days per year, including a mix of face-to-face and online/remote meetings. This appointment is of a public service nature and is not remunerated. Reasonable expenses for travel and other direct expenses will be reimbursed.
