Business Development Officer

About the Role
This role forms part of the KEEI team within the RKED. As a member of a small, friendly and agile team, they will work with academic and professional services colleagues to develop knowledge-based services for new and existing stakeholders, seeking to maximise the value and impact of SOAS research for external organisations including domestic and international businesses, NGOs, charities, and government departments. The post-holder’s focus will be on developing, and managing the delivery, of SOAS commercial KE activities, e.g. consultancy projects, non-credit bearing short courses, and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs). They will help to identify new business opportunities (including calls for bids), develop proposals with academic staff, handle project budgets and manage client relationships in order to achieve shared objectives and secure repeat business for SOAS.
About the Department
The Research and Knowledge Exchange Directorate (RKED) is a growing team that manages the whole lifecycle of research and knowledge exchange activities at SOAS, from supporting researchers to applying for funding, to generating research impact, and commercialising new knowledge.
