CalFresh Healthy Living, UC Statewide Academic Coordinator II - Davis, CA (AP 25-08)
Position Description
The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a CalFresh Healthy Living, UC Statewide Academic Coordinator (Academic Coordinator II).
Location Headquarters: UC ANR, Davis, CA or County Office (Location TBD)
Purpose: The CalFresh Healthy Living, UC (CFHL, UC) Statewide Academic Coordinator will provide statewide leadership, coordination, and oversight for the CFHL, UC program, supporting approximately 180 program staff and local leadership in 36 counties across California. This position will be based at UC ANR and work closely with the Statewide Director, Community Nutrition and Health, Business Manager, and the UC Davis CFHL, UC State Office team to ensure consistency in UC ANR policies and procedures, and centralize people management components.
Responsibilities include supervising and supporting CFHL, UC regions, providing programmatic and administrative support, managing compliance with UC policies, developing techniques for measuring program impact, engaging in staff wellness strategies, exploring workforce development opportunities, collaborating on recruitment to mitigate bias, supporting staffing planning, coordinating statewide efforts, demonstrating program expertise in USDA SNAP-Ed, preparing written materials, and coordinating visits with elected officials.
Counties of Responsibility: Statewide, coordinating across multiple counties and regions.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Statewide Director, Community Nutrition and Health.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A minimum of a master's degree in public health, nutrition, or related field.
- Successful project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience working across cultures or in multicultural environments.
- Ability to travel as needed; valid California Driver's License required.
- This is not a remote position; must be available onsite with possible flexible work agreements.
- Background investigation, including fingerprinting and criminal history clearance, is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an academic setting, such as UC Cooperative Extension.
- Experience in SNAP-Ed.
- Bilingual fluency (Spanish & English).
- Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to create and maintain a diverse network of partners.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
Skills Required:
- Technical competence in community health education, food security, nutrition, physical activity promotion, or policy/systems/environmental change.
- Excellence in written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to communicate complex information tailored to the audience.
- Literacy in online communications and software.
- Demonstrated ability in collaboration, teamwork, and flexibility.
- Commitment to lifelong learning.

Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $81,633 to $89,467 annually. This is a limited term appointment with benefits including health insurance and paid vacation.
