• Background of the recruitment and description of the project
• Department of Advanced Mechanics, Faculty of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University is inviting applications for a position of Professor. Possible candidates are detailed below. A person has knowledge and achievements related to the machine design and tribology, such as machine elements, design engineering and mechanism, and be expected to demonstrate great potential in the future. A person has the ability and enthusiasm for the education and research in the fields of production engineering, including the fundamental fields of engineering.
• Work content and job description
• The position involves teaching “Machine Design”and “Fundamentals of Mechanical Design”etc. at the School of Engineering. The incumbent will also assist with graduate research and lead research methods to master's and doctoral students. Depending on their expertise, they may also be required to teach liberal arts education courses and specialized education courses for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Wages

• Annual Salary : 8 million yen ~
• Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary: Professor 8,102,000-9,650,000 yen The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations. The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation. As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees. Working hours

• Working hours :08:30-17:30
• Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)
• Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
