Department: Capital Programs and Facilities Management (CPFM) is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining a safe, sustainable, and high-quality learning and working environment for the campus community. Facilities Management provides oversight of university resources and assets and is responsible for the development of the Universitys facilities including land use planning, capital improvement, project development, construction, as well as facilities operations and maintenance including custodial services, landscape services, building trade services, mechanical and electrical, and recycling services. We seek an exceptional individual to join our Design and Construction team as the Campus Building Inspector / Inspector of Record (Administrator II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Salary Range: $10,400 - $12,800 per month
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline. A minimum of five years of direct professional experience in construction inspection and two years of experience supervising inspection, construction administration, or related activities. Possession of International Code Council (B2 Commercial Building Inspector) certification minimum, or Division of State Architect (DSA) Project Inspector or Department of Health Care and Information (HCAI formerly OSHPD) Inspector, or the equivalent from a nationally recognized agency. Thorough knowledge of California Building Codes, State or Federal Codes, ADA/Accessibility, and Safety Codes and requirements. Ability to read construction plans and understand construction schedules. Possession of excellent computer, interpersonal, and written skillset.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a large institutional, university, or public works type setting. Experience working with the State Fire Marshall and the Office of Fire Safety. Certified Access Specialist (CASp) certification.
