Capstone Course Co-Director in Implementation Science
Description
The ideal candidate will co-direct the Implementation Science Capstone Impact Courses (course numbers 751 - 753) to facilitate students' independent impact (capstone) projects in implementation science.
Key Responsibilities
- Course Oversight
- Develop formative and summative assessment tools to measure student achievement of the learning objectives, and rubrics to assess student performance with these tools.
- Partner with a learning specialist with the Learning Design and Innovation (LDI) team to deliver and refine the course.
- Partner with course faculty across the program and program leadership to continually evaluate course learning objectives and session objectives that are aligned with program goals.
- Collaborate with program leadership, instructional technologists, librarians, and LDI partners to ensure optimal administration of the course.
- Considers and responds appropriately to real-time feedback about the student experience.
- Student Learning
- Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, and students to create a safe, inclusive and effective learning environment.
- Serve as the primary grader of the major assessments in the course, providing comprehensive feedback to students.
- Choose the appropriate instructional methods and educational activities to facilitate learning and the development of skills including critical thinking, teamwork, and communication.
- Ensure course materials are available to students according to the schedule agreed upon with the program director.
- Monitor and support student progress in fulfilling course learning goals, including providing availability to meet with students to discuss course materials and other concerns.
- Participate in the development and implementation of student remediation plans as needed.
- Model professional behavior to aid the formation of professional identity in learners.
- Read and consider student feedback and course evaluations after course delivery and implement revisions as needed to maintain an enriching experience for students.
Compensation
0.06 FTE total / year, at a generalist clinician rate (non-field specific). Specifically, .015 FTE for fall (IS 751), .015 FTE for winter (IS 752), .03 FTE for spring (IS 753).
Qualifications
- MD / DO or equivalent with clinical experience in applying implementation research in clinical practice.
- Current, or history of, extramural research funding in implementation research.
- Applied experience with systematic reviews, hybrid trial designs, theories,, models and frameworks, including CFIR, PRISM/RE-AIM.
