The TPI Centre is an independent, authoritative source of research and data on the progress of corporate and sovereign entities in transitioning to a low-carbon economy. It is the academic partner of the Transition Pathway Initiative; a global initiative aimed at helping investors assess companies’ preparedness for the transition and supporting efforts to address climate change.
The role will primarily be based within the Carbon Performance team, though you may also be asked to support other projects as required.
Carbon Performance assesses corporate progress towards a low-carbon economy. This data is used by investors to inform engagement strategies, assess portfolio alignment, and drive capital toward credible transition leaders.
This role is to provide high-quality analysis by:
- Assessing companies’ greenhouse gas emissions pathways against low-carbon benchmark scenarios to explore trends, and generate insightful, structured analysis.
- Evaluating whether companies’ current and planned future emissions are aligned with the temperature goals made as part of the Paris Agreement.
- Collecting, processing and performing quality checks on data.
- Contributing to the development of bespoke methodologies and report writing.
- Engaging with external stakeholders.
Candidates should have:
- Undergraduate degree in environmental economics/finance, environmental/energy policy, corporate sustainability, economics, finance, management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality research and analysis in a timely manner, including the ability to analyse complex ideas and apply appropriate methods.
