"Category Manager - Fixed Term"

The Procurement function within the Finance Directorate is looking to appoint a seasoned professional to the role of Category Manager. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will play a key part in overseeing procurement activities, securing value-driven purchasing outcomes, and fostering robust supplier partnerships.

This is a highly influential position that will make a direct contribution to the University’s overall performance. You will collaborate closely with the broader Finance team and work alongside academic, technical, and professional services colleagues, supporting the University’s central procurement function in line with its Strategic Plan and management priorities.

You will take the lead on procurement initiatives for goods, works, or services as assigned, with accountability for developing and implementing a commercially focused category management approach across your designated categories within the portfolio. Your focus will be on safeguarding supply continuity, achieving best value, advancing the broader impact of procurement and sustainability objectives, and managing commercial and regulatory risks associated with procurement.

This position is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
