Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1-Laboratory-Fulltime-Variable
Position Summary:
The laboratory assistant obtains and processes clinical specimens for testing and performs various clerical duties in the clinical laboratory. Assigned job duties are performed independently and he/she assists other personnel in the operation of the laboratory. He/she delivers reports to nursing units and communicates with the responsible health care providers via mail, telephone, and fax. He/she is under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Administrative Director, Laboratory.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Valid Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Issued by the state of California Department of Health Services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Acute care hospital experience preferred.
