The Department of Data Science under the College of Computing at CityUHK is one of the first in the world dedicated to leading the development of this new discipline. The Department welcomes applications and nominations for tenure/tenure track faculty positions of Chair Professor, Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Data Science or related fields in mathematics, statistics, computer science, and engineering. Candidates of Associate Professors and above joining the Department may be considered for nomination of the Global STEM Professorship Scheme sponsored by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Duties

The appointees are expected to make significant contribution to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; advise postgraduate research students; play an active role in curriculum development and management; maintain an active research profile; actively seek external grants and contracts to support research endeavours; provide service to the Department, College and University governance; contribute to professional engagement, networking, and outreach activities that enhance the academic and professional life of the Department.

Requirements

A PhD in Data Science/Statistics/Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines, with a strong research record and promising teaching ability.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
