You will lead change management and communications activities that help prepare researchers, academics and professional staff for the new system, processes and ways of working, contributing to a more streamlined and improved digital experience for end users across the University.

Reporting to the Change and Communication Lead, Digital Research Services you will:

  • Support the delivery of change management and communication activities aligned to the Digital Research Services Stream initiatives
  • Develop and implement structured change and communication plans to support awareness, understanding and adoption
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University to understand change impacts and readiness
  • Prepare high‑quality communication materials, stakeholder updates and engagement activities
  • Manage project communication channels and identify opportunities to share progress, successes and impacts
  • Provide practical advice to project teams and business stakeholders on effective change and adoption approaches
  • Undertake stakeholder analysis and monitor change impacts, proactively identifying risks and opportunities
  • Support training and capability uplift activities, including adapting vendor materials and assisting with the development of training resources (as required)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of change management and communications practices within ITS

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to initiatives that support research excellence and deliver meaningful, people‑centred change.

The Person

You are a collaborative change and communications professional who can operate effectively in complex environments and engage credibly with a broad range of stakeholders. You bring a structured yet adaptable approach to change, combined with strong communication skills that translate technical and system‑driven information into clear, relevant and accessible messages for end users.

You will typically bring:

  • A strong track record of leading change and communication initiatives from concept through to delivery, ideally within an Agile or fast‑paced delivery environment
  • Experience working alongside project teams to shape practical, people‑centred change outcomes, preferably within IT‑enabled or complex organisational settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for turning complex or technical information into clear, engaging and easy‑to‑understand messages
  • Well‑honed organisational skills, enabling you to confidently balance multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detail
  • Natural relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage, influence and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and professional experience (highly regarded)
  • Experience supporting research environments, enterprise systems or large‑scale digital initiatives (highly desirable)
  • A flexible, proactive and solutions‑focused mindset, with the ability to adapt as priorities evolve
  • A genuine commitment to equity, inclusion and creating a respectful, inclusive workplace

The Department

The Digital Delivery and Capability (DDC) group within Information Technology Services supports ANU’s digital transformation by strengthening change, communication and delivery capability across major initiatives.

Working collaboratively and with a user-centred approach, DDC connects strategy to delivery to enable secure, innovative and sustainable digital solutions for a modern, connected university.

You’ll join a supportive team focused on collaboration, continuous improvement and delivering meaningful, lasting change

The Division

Information Technology Services is responsible for the University’s digital ecosystem and leads the delivery of the University’s Digital Plan, a 10‑year roadmap for digital transformation.

ITS partners with Colleges and Service Divisions to deliver secure, seamless and engaging digital experiences that enhance research, education and administration. Working in ITS means contributing to initiatives that directly support the University’s strategic goals and national research capability.
