Description

The Johns Hopkins Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Chief of the division of Molecular Radiation Sciences (MRS). The candidate will be considered for appointment as a Professor of Radiation Oncology with tenure. The Chief of MRS oversees the MRS faculty and staff, and appoints MRS faculty and staff across Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Chief of MRS ensures fulfillment of the mission of the department including advancing a world class academic research program, and has overall accountability for the MRS program. In addition, the Chief maintains responsibility for balance of the Department’s academic and education missions as they pertain to the MRS group. The Chief ensures the success of the educational mission through excellence in training the next generation and engaging with the clinical and physics division to ensure that trainees have outstanding education in radiation biology. The position requires the highest standards of ethics, compliance oversight, and accountability.

The Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Sciences at Johns Hopkins is dedicated to patient-centered, specialized care. The successful candidate will oversee the research strategy and operations at two sites, including the Johns Hopkins Hospital and at the proton center at Sibley Memorial Hospital in the District of Columbia.

Qualifications

The applicant should have extensive experience in conducting investigator-initiated research, working with industry partners, and have a keen interest in mentoring senior and junior faculty, post-doctoral fellows, resident trainees and students. Applicants with prior senior level experience are preferred. Requirements include a Ph.D., M.D. or combined M.D./Ph.D. degree, a demonstrated competency in radiation biology and a significant track record of excellence including publications in radiation-related scientific endeavors.
