Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for providing evidence-based mental health services to youth and their families in the CHCO PMHI outpatient clinic at the Anschutz Medical Campus and/or at one of the Network of Care locations. The CHCO PMHI outpatient clinic serves youth presenting with a wide range of emotional and behavioral difficulties including anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidality, ADHD, behavioral concerns, and trauma. There may be opportunities to work in additional clinical, training, and/or research settings within PMHI based on skillset and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct evidence-based patient care to youth and families including diagnostic evaluations, as well as individual, family, and group therapy
- Develop and implement treatment plans and engage in ongoing treatment monitoring
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external providers involved in a patient's care
- Supervise, teach, and mentor mental health trainees
- Engage in research, scholarship, and/or quality improvement projects
- Serve on committees, task forces, and/or workgroups
- May have opportunities to engage in program development in collaboration with PMHI clinical leadership
Work Location: Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidate's demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
- Instructor/Sr. Instructor/Assistant Professor: 1-3 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado. Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or PsyD training program, including an APA-approved internship
- Associate Professor: 4-7 years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado. Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or PsyD training program, including an APA-approved internship
- Professor: 7+ years of related clinical experience at a rank or equivalent experience. Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado. Completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or PsyD training program, including an APA-approved internship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience following completion of a post-doctoral fellowship
- Experience working in an APA accredited training program
- Experience working in an academic medical center
- Preference will be given to those who are eager to engage in all aspects of the academic mission (e.g., clinical, teaching, scholarship, and service)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Clinical expertise in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment to youth and families in an outpatient mental health setting
- Strong foundation in behavioral and cognitive-behavioral theory. Well-versed in evidence-based treatments and ability to flexibly apply these interventions with fidelity across a wide range of presenting concerns
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations
- Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to provide effective supervision to mental health trainees and consultation with other mental health professionals
- Knowledge of research and quality improvement methodology, as well as the ability to independently conduct research and/or quality improvement projects
Anticipated Pay Range:
- Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor: $105,000 to $120,000
- Associate Professor: $130,000 to $145,000
- Professor: $175,000 to $205,000
