This vacancy is only open to University of Auckland students who are currently enrolled.
The Learning Environment Support Unit (LESU) of Connect – Digital Services at the University of Auckland is seeking highly motivated and responsible current students to assist with technical asset and systems management at the University of Auckland, as a Classroom Equipment Checker. If you have a moderate understanding of computers and want to apply your skills in a way that supports the UoA community, then we want you to join our team.
As a student checker of LESU, you will take a varied role in supporting lecture theatre equipment and Lecture Recording Management. The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Contributing between 5 to 10 hours a week from Monday to Friday, with daily morning work hours before 8 am.
- Performing morning routine checks of the Lecture Theatre (LT) system to ensure that it is functioning well in the rooms allocated to you.
- Checking the functioning of the following technical assets within each of the rooms that you are responsible for: Control Panel, Preview Screen, Projectors, Lectern & Radio Mics, Lectern PC, Document Camera, Annotation Tablet, and Phone.
- Reporting and addressing any faults/problems in a timely manner, ensuring all issues are resolved before lectures begin at 8am.
- Assisting with general duties required in maintaining the Audio / Video management of the systems.
For further information, please refer to the Position Description. Please note we have multiple vacancies available and these are part-time, fixed-term positions until the end of Semester 2 (23rd October 2026). The salary for the positions is $55,634 per annum (prorated).

Because this is primarily an early morning job, the ideal individual(s) will be responsible for coming to work on time and have a keen eye for detail. Further training will be provided upon commencement of work.
