QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in office skills.
Experience: Two years office and customer service experience preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Academic Support Center provides assistance in the anatomy room, developmental math canter, success services for students, supplemental instruction, tutoring center and writing center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for performing clerical duties as related to the Academic Support Centers operations.
Provides general clerical support for the Academic Support Center.
Assists in the opening and closing of the Center.
Greets visitors and answers telephone, email, and live chat. Takes and distributes messages.
Provides information about the Academic Support Center and general college information. Handles initial concerns and makes referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
Schedules appointments for the Academic Support Center’s departments using the SARS-GRID, eSARS and SARS-Trak records, including tutor schedules.
Assists in updating and maintaining the Academic Support Center website.
Assists in the creation of promotional materials for the Academic Support Center.
Assist in the gathering and compiling of statistics for regular and special reports for the Academic Support Center.
Assists the ASC Assistant with making appointments and receiving payments for the Community Tutoring Center.
Acts as the point person for questions at the front desk for student aides.
Maintains the Academic Support Center’s attendance records in the Starfish Early Alert system.
Compiles attendance reports for faculty and staff, regularly and upon request.
Assists with the gathering and preparation of materials needed for presentations and events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature. Maintains a flexible 29 hours per week schedule. Will work some evenings and weekends.
Equipment/Tools Used:
Utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, in order to perform the duties of the job.
