Position Summary
The
Department of
Communicative Disorders and Sciences (CDS) at the
University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, invites
applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty
position in Clinical Audiology. Appointment will be made at the
rank of
Clinical Assistant Professor or of Clinical
Associate Professor, commensurate with the candidate's
qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the clinical
education and professional preparation of students in CDS's Doctor
of Audiology (Au.D.), new 3-year program (June 2026). We seek a
collaborative clinician-educator with a strong commitment to
graduate education, evidence-based clinical practice, and the
preparation of future Doctors of Audiology.
Areas of clinical expertise may include, but are not limited to,
adult diagnostic audiology, hearing aids and amplification,
vestibular audiology, cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, and
clinical research. Candidates with expertise in other areas of
audiology are also encouraged to apply.
The position includes graduate clinical education and supervision,
clinical service, teaching, support of community-based and off-site
clinical education, and departmental and university service. The
successful candidate will also have opportunities to develop
specialty clinical programming and participate in collaborative
clinical and scholarly activities consistent with their areas of
expertise and interest.

of Arts and Sciences, CDS is committed to building upon its
research, clinical, and academic strengths and continuing its
leadership in audiology, hearing science, speech-language
pathology, and related areas.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide clinical education, supervision, and mentorship to
Au.D. students.
- Provide audiologic services with Au.D. students in the UB
Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Clinic and community
settings.
Support coordination of off-site clinical placements and
clinical education activities.
Teach graduate-level coursework within areas of expertise.
Develop collaborative and interprofessional relationships
within UB and the Western New York Community.
Participate in graduate student research and scholarly
activities, as appropriate.
Contribute to the development of specialty clinics and clinical
programming.
Provide service to the Department, University, Profession, and
Community.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Audiology with a minimum of 2-3 years of
post-graduate clinical experience and a minimum of 9 months of
clinical supervision.
- Candidates are required to have or be eligible for ASHA
certification- CCC-A
- Have or be eligible for NY State Licensure
- Have or be eligible for a NY State Hearing Aid Dispensing
License
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred candidates are engaging, motivated, self-initiators,
and highly organized.
- Prior teaching experience in speech and hearing science at the
university level preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
Candidates must be able to work as an Audiologist in a clinical
environment, travel to sites in the WNY community, and teach
academic course work.
