Clinical Assistant Professor
The School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites applications for the positions of Clinical Assistant Professor (P00001110, P00037799/R0085893). This is a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position set to begin July 1, 2026. This successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, advising, mentoring, and evaluating students throughout the nursing program.
The UA Little Rock School of Nursing is a vital member of the Little Rock community. For nearly 50 years, the school has educated nurses and is responsible for placing them across the state, region, and country. Our nationally-ranked UA Little Rock Nursing program prepares students to be skilled and compassionate nurses. Our nursing students are highlight regarded by employers as well as being prepared and as having outstanding critical thinking and communication skills.
UA Little Rock-educated nurses are highly regarded by employers as well-prepared outstanding critical thinkers and communicators. The school is the largest department on campus with more than 600 current students, 20-plus full-time faculty, and six dedicated staff members. For fiscal year 2024, we had an NCLEX RN pass rate of 92.26%. UA Little Rock nursing students benefit from hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art simulation lab, making them skilled and prepared to transition into the workforce immediately after graduation.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in nursing and currently be enrolled in a master's degree in nursing program; OR A master's degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or EdD), and a masters in nursing; Current, unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure prior to position start date; Maintain in-state residency during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Nursing; or current enrollment in a doctoral program; Recent clinical and teaching experience in a successful, accredited Nursing program.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Active participation in team planning, decision-making, as well as curriculum review and revision; Demonstrate knowledge of current nursing practice and contemporary healthcare trends; Effective integration of technology into teaching; Demonstrate continued role development. Development of research in area of specialization; Serve on committees supporting School, College, University, and/or health services organizations; Participate in community service activities.
