The Kinesiology and Health Studies Department at Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for a clinical faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor available January 2026.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A completed doctorate degree specializing in Public Health, Health Sciences, or closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated effective teaching at the university level and student advising and mentoring

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES^®) certification, online instruction experience, and evidence of scholarly productivity

Instructional responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in health sciences (e.g., epidemiology, research, health communication, worksite health, population health, health behavior, health curriculum & instruction, chronic disease determinants and disparities, and other topics).

Additional expectations include academic advising, engaging in scholarly activity, and providing service to the department, college, university, and community.

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies is one of three academic units in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The department serves 1,000 undergraduate majors pursuing degrees in Health and Physical Education Teacher Education, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, and Sport Management, and 50 graduate students seeking the Master of Science degree in Health and Kinesiology.
