Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor - Education of Care of Adult Population
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently seeking 2 full-time Clinical Instructors or Assistant Professors at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, MD to contribute to the education of Care of Adult Population
UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Essential Functions:
The position is responsible for teaching courses focused on care of the adult patient and achieving positive program outcomes and course objectives in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, entry to practice master's degree program, and/or RN to BSN program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction for nursing students (BSN, MSN generalist, RN to BSN). Evaluates students and participates in curricular adjustments and modifications for entry into practice and RN to BSN students. Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of simulations and clinical experiences relative to courses taught. Contributes to the school's mission in service, scholarship, and practice.
HIRING RANGE: $100,000 - $122,000
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Clinical Instructor: As a master's prepared nurse, you will need to apply to a doctoral program of your choice (e.g., PhD, DNP, JD, EdD) within one year of your date of hire and enroll within one year of your acceptance to a doctoral program.
- Assistant Professor: The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate (PhD, EdD, or DNP).
- Current license to practice in the State of Maryland or a compact state is required.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
- This position requires face to face teaching and clinical site visits.
