Clinical Nurse II - Manchester Plastic Surgery - FT Days

Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for the clinical aspect of patient care including phone and walk-in triage. Assists with procedures, patient education and outpatient discharge follow-up. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
Required Qualifications: Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties; Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job; Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting; Experience in circulating and monitoring for patients in plastic surgery procedures; Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills; Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques; Current California RN license; Current BLS and ACLS certification; All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English; Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment; Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms; Experience and competency in working with patients under conscious sedation; Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
