Job Description Summary
Assists in the management of clinical studies under direct supervision by coordinating patient screening, enrollment, data collection, and sample handling. Supports IRB submissions and helps prepare manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to address study needs, implement approved changes, and monitor outcomes. Contributes to investigator-initiated, multi-center, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research studies.
Job Description
Coordinate Phase I-IV clinical trials or other clinical studies in the field of lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease, and related rare diseases. Recruit, consent and screen patients according to protocol. Schedule patient visits and any necessary testing. Monitor patients per protocol requirements and ensure adherence to protocol requirements. Organize and maintain all documentation required by the Investigator, sponsor or CRO, including source documentation, case report forms, and research charts. Collect, review and report study data. Complete case report forms and resolve data queries. Process and ship study specimens including blood and urine. Participate in initiation, monitoring, audit, and close-out visits as well as actively participate in team meetings. Participate in the development of complex documents such as protocols, inform consent forms and questionnaires. Show vigilance in patient safety and protocol compliance. Adhere to all University of Pennsylvania, FDA and GCP guidelines.
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, a Clinical Research Coordinator B is expected to be able to operate with minimal supervision, coordinate more than one study and, overall, take more of a leadership role in the conduction of the study duties, in the preparation of study documents and during team meetings.
This is a full-time position that requires the majority of the work to be completed in-person.

Effective problem-solving abilities; effective communication and writing skills; strong organizational and time management skills; flexible and able to multi-task, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations.
CRC-A
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
CRC-B
- Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
