The University of Pennsylvania, a world-renowned leader in education, research, and innovation, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator B/C for the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program.

Job Description Summary

With minimal supervision, the Clinical Research Coordinator will coordinate Phase I-IV clinical trials, registries, and NIH-funded studies. Responsibilities include screening, recruiting, consenting, and enrolling eligible subjects per protocol using GCP guidelines. Implement research protocols, provide education to patients and/or families, manage research medication administration, monitor patient care, side effects, and adverse events, and maintain oversight of patient status. Record and report adverse events, schedule visits, perform vital signs and EKGs, handle phlebotomy, sample processing, and shipping. Organize documentation, ensure accurate data collection and entry, and communicate with study sponsors and teams. Participate in study meetings, initiation, monitoring, audit, and closeout visits, adhering to University, FDA, and GCP guidelines.

Clinical Research Coordinator B

Coordinate clinical trials and studies, including screening, recruiting, consenting, enrolling subjects, implementing protocols, scheduling visits, performing vital signs and EKGs, handling phlebotomy, and maintaining documentation. Ensure protocol compliance and patient safety.

Clinical Research Coordinator C

Independently manage complex clinical trials and multiple NIH-funded studies. Oversee research medication, monitor patient care, evaluate and escalate adverse events, manage treatment regimens, lead reporting, communicate with sponsors and teams, participate in regulatory visits, mentor staff, and identify process improvements.

Qualifications

For B: Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of related experience, or equivalent. Phlebotomy preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Familiarity with IRB and human subject regulations. Position contingent upon funding.

For C: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to manage complex trials, leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of regulations, and experience mentoring staff. Position contingent upon funding.

Pay Range

$52,500.00 - $62,000.00 Annual Rate
