Job Description Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for oversight, execution, and regulatory compliance of human subject research carried out in the Stroke Division of the Neurology Department. The scope of this job includes conducting clinical trials from startup through closeout, coordinating and supporting the regulatory aspects of the Stroke research program, assisting the Stroke team in the oversight of clinical research projects, and management and submission of all regulatory documents of the Stroke research program.
Job Description
The coordinator must be detail oriented and have prior experience with IRB guidelines and policies and human subject research practices and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols. The Clinical Research Coordinator will receive training in multiple research instruments, such as transcranial doppler ultrasound, optical blood flow monitor, and blood pressure monitors. This position will require significant bedside interaction with patients. The coordinator must be able to function independently and effectively manage multiple protocols.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Detail oriented
- Prior experience with IRB guidelines, policies, human subject research practices and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a strong ability to communicate with clinicians, researchers, patients and families. Job will require communication with staff and patients outside of office hours.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Must be able to exercise discretion with confidential information
