About the Role

These are two Clinic Research Fellow posts in Haemato-Oncology. The successful applicants will be expected to undertake a research project resulting in a PhD in the Centre for Haemato-Oncology at Barts Cancer Institute (BCI), as well as deliver clinical duties at The London Clinic on a rota basis with other Clinical Research Fellows.

About You

You will be a Haematology SpR in a training post or completed CCT and looking for the opportunity to undertake an out of program research project to result in the award of a PhD. You will have obtained MRCP or equivalent and be working towards or have obtained FRCPath (Haem).

About the Institute

The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research and it combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute) which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics. BCI is committed in supporting and developing future cancer researchers through its extensive postgraduate training.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 4 years, with expected start dates of September 2026 and April 2027. The starting salary will be Nodal point 4-5, ST4 - ST8, (clinical academic pay scale) in the range of £65,048 – £73,992, per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
