Aston Medical School is focused on promoting social mobility, leadership and international connectivity whilst addressing the needs of its community through its widening participation pathway, research strategy and emphasis on primary care education and healthcare leadership.
We now offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical or non-clinical academic in medical education to lead a small MB ChB curriculum development team. These posts are part of the further development of the highly successful medical school at Aston University. The School has now graduated three cohorts of students and we now wish to undertake a detailed curriculum review founded on our experience and that of our graduates. In addition, as a leader in the field, Aston University has now been invited to assist in the creation of a new medical school, the Black Country Medical School at the University of Wolverhampton and this post will play a critical role in these exciting developments.
Working within a supportive and dynamic multi-professional MBChB team, the appointees will principally focus on curriculum development but will also have opportunities to contribute to quality management processes, assessment and teaching. Full training and support will be provided.
It is essential that applicants have a passion for supporting undergraduate medical education and an enthusiasm for cross-discipline working with colleagues in the University and NHS.
Applications are open to both clinical and non-clinical applicants. Clinically qualified applicants are advised to discuss their application with their Training Programme Director before applying. The School will work with successful applicants and local Trusts to help them continue with one clinical session per week.
Please submit an online application and upload your CV.
We encourage informal discussion of the post before the interview, and a tour of facilities will be arranged for the day of the interview; please contact:
