Clinical Service Representative I - Ophthalmology
Position Summary
Provides clinical office support including answering telephone calls, entering demographic and insurance/referral information, and scheduling appointments.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone calls and handles patient questions or routes to appropriate personnel.
- Schedules, reschedules, cancels and confirms patient appointments.
- Registers new patients in the system and obtains demographic and insurance information.
- Assists with obtaining referrals/pre-certifications as needed.
- Provides packets of information to patients associated with services which may accompany the appointment.
- Assists other clinical support staff during peak time, vacation/illnesses.
Working Conditions:
Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Physical Effort: Typically sitting at a desk or table.
Equipment: Office equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Professional Licenses: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
Work Experience: No specific work experience is required for this position.
More About This Job
Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
