Clinical Skills Educator & Simulation Coordinator
About the opportunity
The Clinical Skills Educator and Simulation Coordinators are responsible for the planning, coordination, facilitation and teaching of procedural clinical skills and simulation-based teaching to medical students across all years of the Sydney Medical Program (SMP).
We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Skills Educator & Simulation Coordinator to join the Nepean Clinical School team during a parental leave period. This role is primarily teaching-focused, providing an opportunity to shape medical students' learning through hands on procedural and simulation based education.
Working closely with the Clinical Skills Team Lead, you'll deliver engaging and high-quality clinical teaching sessions that build students' confidence and competence in practical medicine. This is a rewarding opportunity for a clinician or educator who thrives on direct student interaction and contributing to a collaborative teaching environment.
Your key responsibilities will be
- deliver procedural and simulation based clinical teaching to medical students across all years of the Sydney Medical Program (SMS)
- facilitate small group teaching sessions using simulation and skills-based learning methods
- support the coordination and delivery of clinical education activities, ensuring teaching continuity
- collaborate with colleagues and the Team Lead to maintain a positive, supportive learning environment
- assist with basic education administration, including scheduling, ordering and compliance processes.
You will have
- current clinical skills knowledge and experience within a healthcare setting
- well-developed skills in clinical practice and teaching, including simulation, simulated patients and clinical skills training methods in health profession education
- strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
- ability to work both independently and in a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
- excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks and to meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes.
