Cloud-Based Content Developer, School of Technology and Computing (Part-Time)
Job Description
Job Summary: The Cloud-Based Content Developer is responsible for developing and enhancing courses within the School of Technology and Computing (STC) by integrating cloud computing, AI tools, and industry-recognized certifications. This role focuses on supporting student success and ensuring a high-quality learning experience through continuous curriculum improvement and the incorporation of emerging technologies. The developer will actively refine course content with an emphasis on hands-on skills and real-world programming environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the current computing environments and technology infrastructure used across Computer Science courses, with a focus on cloud computing and AI integration.
- Research and identify emerging technologies and computing environments to ensure course content remains current and industry-relevant.
- Review Computer Science courses for alignment with industry certifications and recommend appropriate certifications to integrate into the curriculum.
- Continuously monitor student performance and feedback to assess the effectiveness of course content and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote and support student engagement and success through the development and implementation of enhanced, industry-informed course materials.
- Instruct at least one updated course to pilot and validate improvements in a real-world teaching environment. Teaching will be paid out of compensation.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, etc.
- Experience with full-stack development using MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React/React Native, Node.js) stacks.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and data pipelines.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git and platforms like GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including GitHub Codespaces, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Applied experience in AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch, including diverse LLMs.
- Familiarity with data science tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter Notebooks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in security-related environments.
- A minimum of one year of Teaching Assistant experience.
- A minimum of one year of demonstrated experience with Brightspace LMS or equivalent (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, including the ability to develop instructional materials and project-based assessments.
- Ability to map course content to industry certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure AI Engineer, Google Data Engineer).
- Willingness to continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree from an accredited university in computer science or a closely related discipline.
- An undergraduate degree in STEM fields.
- Experience supporting student clubs, research groups, or meetups.
- A minimum of two years of software industry experience.
- Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural awareness to diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Knowledge of MLOps or deploying AI models in production environments.
- Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Claude, or LLaMA.
- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and applications.
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Familiarity with risk assessment, vulnerability management, or incident response.
- Understanding of network security, encryption protocols, and secure coding practices.

On-campus work for two days a week is required. Some evening and weekend hours may be required in this position.
Salary information: $50,000/year
