Position Description
Designs, implements, and manages instructional programming within the College Readiness department. The College Readiness Instructor is responsible for teaching College Readiness/TSI courses, developing and delivering curriculum aligned with corequisite support, and promoting student retention and success. This position ensures instructional quality and consistency by collaborating with core academic faculty. The College Readiness Instructor monitors student progress, enforces program policies, and supports students throughout their academic journey. The College Readiness position is currently restricted for use in Academic Innovation & Student Success.
Major/Essential Functions
- Instruct College Readiness/TSI courses in math, providing corequisite support aligned with college-level coursework.
- Design, plan, and deliver engaging lessons, workshops, and interactive learning experiences.
- Coordinate with core academic instructors to ensure College Readiness/TSI instruction complements core course objectives.
- Assess student performance, grade assignments, maintain accurate academic records, and provide meaningful feedback.
- Participate in student outreach efforts, including summer orientations and ongoing support.
- Contribute to program assessments, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and stay current in the field through continuous learning and research.
- Participate in campus and community events, and contribute to departmental and college-wide decision-making.
- Work with program leadership to implement and support the recruitment, training, and classroom engagement of TSI peer mentors in College Readiness courses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Math, Education, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Minimum of three (3) years of instructional experience, preferably in adult education, high school, or junior high settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in math or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working with faculty, staff, and peer mentors in an educational setting.
Pay Range
$48,000 - $63,700 - $78,400
