As a member of the CollegeCorps staff, this position uses skills as a seasoned, experienced program professional to develop, organize and oversee the CollegeCorps recruitment processes of both host-site/ and fellows. This professional is responsible to apply grant specific practices to enhance and support campus-community partnerships. Provides timelines, rubrics and resources for successful host site and fellow recruitment and collaboration. Communicates regularly and professionally with fellows, CollegeCorps staff and program stakeholders. Provides regular updates and progress reports to all constituents. Demonstrates knowledge of grants and grant management and reporting. Manages responsibilities in the following functional areas: Host-site and fellow recruitment and selection, training, orientation and weekly updates and support, works as part of the CollegeCorps program team within the Community Engagement Center (CEC), reporting directly to the Director, and working closely with the entire CollegeCorps and CEC staff to manage the CollegeCorps grant program goals and directives. This professional possesses abroad job knowledge, strong communication skills, good people management skills, and effective project monitoring, follow-through, task completion and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Administration
Leads Fellow recruitment, application process, pre-service orientation, onboarding, hours tracking and community-building for both CollegeCorps Fellows and host sites. Provides oversight for Fellow POD groups and Lunch & Learns planning and tracking. Meets with site supervisors to provide training and to support completion of formal agreements and to manage fellow-host site challenges. Supports the development of criteria for site selection and provides guidance for fellow activities, compliance and documentation. supports planning and execution of Pre-service orientation, Saturday seminars and end-of-year program poster session and celebration. - Recruitment and Orientation
Lead recruitment efforts, welcoming all students across the campus. Review applications and conduct interviews with 200-300 students, ensuring a diverse cohort. Plan and oversee orientation and onboarding processes to acclimate students to community engagement programs. - Community Engagement
Collaborate with the Community Engagement Center to foster student participation in community-wide initiatives. Manage the fellow and host site matching process, ensuring optimal fit between students and community partners. Provide training and support to community partners, facilitating formal agreements and addressing any site-related challenges. - Transportation Oversight
Oversee the College Corps transportation system, operating similarly to the Community Engagement Center's model. Hire, train, and manage a team of 12+ student staff in various roles, including drivers and office support, to facilitate hundreds of rides per week. Compile routes and schedules to accommodate approximately 200 rides weekly across 30 host sites, while addressing transportation issues as they arise. - Manage office workspace for both professional and student staff, ensuring a supportive and productive environment. Recruit, hire, train, and assign tasks to student staff; conduct regular one[1]on-one meetings for professional development and performance evaluation.
Hiring Range
The salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $57,650 - $69,400/yr.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Advanced degree Masters Degree in a related field from an accredited institution. (Preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of directly related experience.
- Experience working with CollegeCorp and/or AmeriCorps. (Preferred)
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- Skills in judgement and decision- making, problem-solving, identifying measures of performance and action to improve performance.
- Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills. (Preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
- Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. (Preferred)
