Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice will be in the Section of Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation-Cellular Therapeutics (BMT-CT). This faculty position will focus primarily on the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs Hospital (COS). This position will be expected to independently manage and supervise the CCBD inpatient and outpatient services including the infusion center at the COS site.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary management of inpatient, outpatient, and infusion care of infants, children, and adolescents undergoing therapy for a variety of CCBD and non-CCBD related diagnoses.
- Provide education and support for rotating residents, fellows, PNP, PA, RN students, advanced practice providers (APPs), nursing, and other support staff.
- Perform lumbar punctures including intrathecal chemotherapy administration if applicable, bone marrow aspirates, bone marrow biopsies, Ommaya taps and medication administration, skin biopsies, and other minor procedures as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with other faculty and referring providers regarding shared patients.
- Share in call coverage (inpatient, holiday, weekend, and nights) with other CCBD faculty.
