Position Overview
This role is integral to the delivery and support of the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Radiation Innovation (RadInnovate). RadInnovate aims to build new capabilities for nuclear science and radiation by training the next generation of transdisciplinary leaders through the integration of core science, technology, regulation, governance and societal values. RadInnovate is led by ANU in partnership with Adelaide University, and with 15 industry and government partners on co-designed research projects in the areas underpinning nuclear science, technological innovation, and regulatory and social responsiveness, to equip Australian industries with a future-ready workforce.
As the Communications and Engagement Officer, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, who leads a small team of professional staff who support the operations of RadInnovate and work in close collaboration with the Director of the Training Centre, Professor Mahananda Dasgupta, across both Universities, our Partner Organisations and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About the role
The role will work in a collaborative manner to develop, implement and monitor the communication and stakeholder engagement activities of RadInnovate. You will also support the events essential to building the Training Centre's research community.
We are looking for someone who can work quickly, communicate clearly, and who will excel at building strong relationships. Our ideal candidate is confident and adaptable in engaging students, early-career researchers, senior researchers, and industry partners, and in collaborating with subject-matter experts. You will bring energy, organisation and an ability to deliver outcomes in a complex and dynamic environment.
You may have worked in communications, content management, or media. Experience in event management will be highly regarded, as will be knowledge/experience working in a scientific research environment. Diverse candidates are welcome. Your most important quality will be the ability to deliver engaging content, communicate clearly, and build our stakeholder network.
This role is a fantastic growth opportunity for anyone seeking to develop their career in communications and stakeholder engagement. Over time, you will help us build the RadInnovate community, tell our success stories both internally and externally, and help grow our network of researchers and industry partners. We are a small team, but we will support you in succeeding, celebrate those successes, and help you plan for future career progression.
