Communications and Outreach Coordinator (Social Work)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage external communication, projects, and events pertaining to the social work profession for the School of Social Work.
Activities focus on:
- Social work student recruitment.
- Designing promotional materials and videos.
- Marketing the CSWE-accredited academic BSW/MSW programs in the School of Social Work through social media.
- Website management; planning, marketing, and executing School of Social Work events including fundraisers and conferences.
- Adhering to guidance provided by accreditation body, the Council on Social Work Education.
- Engages directly with prospective and current social work students, funders, social work alumni, campus partners, and external stakeholders.
- Occasional local and domestic travel required, such as for trainings.
Minimum Experience / Education
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
- Project management, event planning, public relations, and/or sales/marketing experience preferred.
- Experience designing promotional materials (i.e. newsletters, brochures, videos), using social media as a marketing tool, website management, preparing and delivering presentations;
- Goal oriented and intrinsically motivated with ability to build relationships and to be a team player, ability to engage with others in an individual and group setting, ability to multi-task and organize data, problem-solving skills, time management skills, strategic prospecting skills, flexibility, ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills' experience with Google Workspace, Canva (intermediate) and/or Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite: intermediate preferred.
- Prefer to have knowledge of the social work profession to include NASW Code of Ethics; and knowledge related to social work education to include CSWE Competencies.
