Posting Description
COMMUNICATIONS APPLICATIONS ANALYST, MIT Admissions and Student Financial Services, to provide systems support and technical guidance to the Communications + Special Projects team. Reports to the Director of Communications and Special Projects and works closely with the Admissions Operations team to support the execution of digital and print campaigns through various business processes in Technolutions Slate. Provides backup support on Deliver, Slate's outbound email system; processes and cleans data used for digital and print campaigns; serves as an internal technical consultant, optimizing system configurations, writing scripts to streamline work, and editing code on websites and other platforms; assists in evaluating the technical components of new systems and provides advice to the Director on projects implemented by external agencies. Works closely with the Associate Director of Communications and the Associate Director of Admissions Operations and translates effectively among communications, operational, and technical needs. May liaise with student computing groups on discrete projects.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in a related field; and experience in at least one modern software development language or framework, with the ability to learn and deploy others; demonstrated ability to learn and master the foundations of Technolutions Slate; ability to work independently within established parameters for sustained periods, particularly during admissions reading season; meticulous attention to detail and ability to proactively identify and correct errors and unexpected behavior in complex systems; and strong interpersonal and project management skills, including the ability to coordinate and translate effectively between the Operations and Communications teams. PREFERRED: Disciplinary training, continuing education or professional certification, and/or a project portfolio(s) in a technical field; and familiarity with configuring and querying Technolutons Slate.
This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with the flexibility to work from home some days a week.
