The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science is housed under the Office of Research on the UCI Campus. The UCI ICTS is one of 62 Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSAs) funded by the National Institutes of Health in the US. The ICTS mission is to improve health and healthcare by catalyzing translational research across the spectrum and by advancing the science of translation. To accomplish this mission, we provide a wide range of support services to researchers across the spectrum from basic research to population health research and everything in between. Our goal is simple: to accelerate discoveries from the lab and translate them into life-altering medical care and public health interventions.
The CEU provides researchers on campus with support and assistance in finding and collaborating with off-campus entities, and provides off-campus entities with support and assistance finding and working with on-campus researchers. Specific activities include quarterly meetings of the Community Health Research Exchange, bi-monthly meetings of a Community Advisory Board, administration of annual Campus-Community Research Incubator Awards, and implementation of Community Engagement Studios for researchers seeking input from the community to guide their research endeavors.

Your Role on the Team

As part of the Community Engagement Unit for the ICTS, the incumbent will use skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This position will gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data, specifically regarding research between community and academic researchers. This position involves building and promoting relationships with and between community and academic researchers. Support including community experts in research project through recruitment, selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, newsletter articles, charts, tables, and other visual aids to analyze, interpret, and communicate data, results, and happenings within the department/team. Plans and coordinates informational sessions to foster shared knowledge between the community and academicians.

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of research function.
  • Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming.
  • Thorough skills in analysis and consultation.
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 3-5 yearsExperience in research

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $88,000- $106,400 (Annual).
