Accurately document screening results and assist with data
collection and quality assurance activities.
Provide health education and screening result information to
children, parents, and school personnel as appropriate.
Assist families in identifying and accessing healthcare
resources and primary care services when follow-up is
recommended.
Assist health professional students and volunteers
participating in screening activities.
Ensure correct set-up of screening stations and associated
equipment.
Maintain screening equipment and supplies and assist with
inventory management.
Support outreach activities, communications, and program
promotion efforts.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of screening results
and educational materials.
Maintain positive working relationships with school
administrators, school nurses, faculty, students, volunteers, and
community partners.
Assist with program reporting, record keeping, and other
administrative functions.
Supportive Functions:
- Serve as a resource for students and volunteers regarding
screening procedures and program operations.
- Review screening documentation for completeness and
accuracy.
- Participate in program improvement initiatives and special
projects.
- Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as
assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a health care or public health
setting
- Healthcare-related education, certification, licensure, or
comparable experience required.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, schools,
healthcare organizations, or community programs preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal
skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse
populations.
- Ability to travel to schools throughout the Greater Kansas City
area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- RN, LPN, MA, CNA, CHW, or similar healthcare credentials.
- Experience conducting health screenings, patient education,
outreach or care coordination activities.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills, particularly
Spanish, are desirable. Fluency in other languages commonly spoken
within the Kansas City metropolitan area is also valued.
