Position Overview:
The College of New Jersey's Pre-College Summer Program (PCSP) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Community Living Supervisor for Summer 2026. PCSP is a 10-day, 9-night inclusive residential experience designed for New Jersey high school students (ages 16–21) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants live and learn on campus while engaging in academic, social, and career-focused experiences that prepare them for college life, employment, and greater independence. The Community Living Supervisor is a senior member of the program's leadership team and plays a central role in both the administration and delivery of the residential learning experience. This position oversees the Community Living Coordinator and Residential Support Specialists, develops and teaches curriculum focused on independent living and self-determination, and ensures that all residential programming aligns with PCSP's person-centered philosophy and educational goals.
Please note: This program is supported through federal funding. Program continuation and all associated staff positions are contingent upon the availability of these funds. In the event that funding is reduced or withdrawn, positions may be modified or rescinded.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the Community Living Coordinator and team of Residential Support Specialists, providing ongoing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Design and implement the Community Living curriculum and related seminars that promote independent living, self-advocacy, and social-emotional development.
- Provide direct instruction and facilitate interactive workshops focused on topics such as community engagement, personal organization, social responsibility, and daily living skills.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the residential program, including student safety, evening supervision, and community-building activities.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and other staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment that bridges classroom and residential experiences.
- Manage administrative logistics related to residential life, including scheduling, communication, documentation, and incident reporting.
- Serve as a point of contact along with the Program Director for communication and crisis response during the summer sessions.
- Assist in the research and creation of end-of-program final reports.
- Model and promote PCSP's core values of inclusion, respect, and independence.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in program supervision, student-life administration, or disability-support settings.
- Experience working with youths with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, instructional delivery, and facilitation of life-skills or transition-planning workshops.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide a team.
- Commitment to inclusive education, self-determination, and person-centered practices.
Persons with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations in order to perform the essential functions of the position. If the requested accommodation(s) cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, the applicant may not be eligible for the position.

Employment at TCNJ is contingent upon the successful completion of an applicable background check, reference checks, and verification of identity and authorization to work in the United States (Form I-9).
Accommodation: Applicants who require a reasonable accommodation to apply or interview should contact hr@tcnj.edu.
