Computer Assisted Drafting Adjunct

Position involves preparing for and teaching courses in the CAD discipline in order to achieve course requirements and student success outcomes. Course assignments may occur in a classroom setting, learning lab, online or dual enrollment environment. For this particular position, we are seeking candidates that have knowledge of course content and proficiencies listed below:
CAD 220 Introduction To Revit
Course Description:
Students will have a thorough introduction to 2D and 3D architectural design using the AutoDesk Revit software. This class is available to students to design residential and light commercial buildings. Students will learn how to design floor plans, floor systems and ceiling plans, roof plans, elevation drawings, cross section drawings, site plans, and framing diagrams related to introductory through intermediate residential architecture.
This course will be offered at the Mount Pleasant Campus
Examples of Duties
- Teach assigned classroom courses.
- Develops and updates syllabi for courses assigned and ensures course content and requirements meet the requirements of college and accreditation agencies.
- Develops appropriate assessment tools to determine course effectiveness and assures that student outcomes are achieved.
- Assesses student academic achievement and provides students with timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s).
- Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, to include student attendance and grades.
- Holds appropriate office hours for meeting with and assisting students.
- Maintains regular communication with full-time and adjunct faculty in the assigned departments(s), and the Library and Learning Services area, and Registrar and Retention Services.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide; serves on college committees as encouraged/assigned.
- Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, and student service initiatives.
- Adheres to the policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Ensures all communications and practices demonstrate support of the Ethics for Teaching Professionals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College’s Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Bachelor’s Degree in CAD/related area is preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in CAD with 3-5 years of work experience required.
Experience:
- 1 – 2 years of experience teaching AutoDesk Revit is preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of work experience within AutoDesk Revit related field is required.

- Ability to develop and effectively deliver course content/objectives and facilitate an effective learning environment for students to maximize their success.
- Knowledge of computer and educational technology and ability to effectively integrate technology into the classroom.

- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a close, collaborative manner with other faculty and administration.
