Conservator (Book & Paper)

Applications are invited for the post of Conservator (Book and Paper) at Cambridge University Library.

The Conservator (Book and Paper) supports business as usual in the Conservation Department by assisting with core activities including exhibitions, loans, and digitisation.

You will work closely with other members of the Conservation team to facilitate the preservation of the Library's diverse collections. This will include both preventive and remedial conservation interventions for rare books, manuscripts and archival materials in line with the Library's strategic priorities and treatments identified by the Conservation Helpdesk.

You will have good attention to detail and a high standard of practical skills using both preventive and interventive conservation measures, in keeping with professional and ethical standards of best practice. Your work contributes to the overall good stewardship of Cambridge University Libraries and Archives collections and helps to ensure that the Library is at the forefront of current thinking and best practice in the Conservation of cultural heritage.

This is a full-time role covering 36.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday.
