Strong hands-on experience in robotics theories and software tools is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate clear potential for scholarship, leadership, and curricular innovation. All candidates must demonstrate or show potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
Requirement
The expectations for the Industry Assistant Professor primarily involve teaching robotics courses per semester. This position is not required to conduct research, although if the candidate wishes to, the teaching assignment can be arranged to allow the candidate to engage in funded research, and the candidate is welcome to leverage the Robotics and AI research networks and resources within the department, the school, and the whole university. The initial appointment may take 2-3 years, and the position is renewable afterward. Ideal candidates for the role could include postdocs and research fellows who are actively involved in robotic research in either academia or industry R&D labs.
