Position Purpose
The Continuing Resources Librarian will lead Dartmouth Libraries' management and administration of access to ongoing scholarly resources across evolving modalities through efficient and sustainable workflows. The Continuing Resources Librarian performs a wide range of duties including supervising the continuing resources team, leading the library-wide serials and standing order processes, coordinating the lifecycle and acquisition of streaming media, supporting open and transformative access, and assisting with electronic resources management in collaboration with the Electronic Resources Librarian. In partnership with subject librarians, the Continuing Resources Librarian uses data informed methods to identify strategic, cost-efficient ways to provide access to or acquire continuing resources.
This is a hybrid work location eligible position.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
Masters plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Master's degree in Library or Information Science, or equivalent advanced degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited or equivalent accrediting body
- Two years of serials OR electronic resources management experience
- Knowledge of current trends in Electronic Resource Management
- Knowledge and experience with electronic resources technical standards such as COUNTER, KBART, and SUSHI.
- Effective oral and written communication skills through a variety of communication methods
- Ability to adapt to a changing information landscape, manage competing priorities, and tolerance for ambiguity
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development/achievement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale serials renewals processes, both internally and with serials agencies/vendors
- Ability to lead staff, develop, and manage efficient workflows/processes in support of strategic goals
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Experience with integrated library systems, preferably ExLibris' Alma.
- Experience managing streaming media purchases, access, and holdings.
