When business needs fluctuate throughout the year, Michigan Dining will offer work assignments based on availability and selected through the seniority-driven bidding process. Work assignments may be required in other departments to ensure year-round work schedules for all staff members that want that, seasonal leave requests may be approved on a year by year basis at the unit discretion.

• Proficiency in English and ability to interpret instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends & holidays.
• Prior food production experience as a short-order cook or line cook in a restaurant; knowledge of the methods and equipment used in the preparation and serving of food.
• Maintain a static position for extended periods of time while preparing food.
• Routinely move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Monday - Tuesday: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Wednesday - Thursday: OFF

Friday - Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Department: M|Dining - South Quad

Hourly Rate: $20.42 - 21.62

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
