Job Description
Position Overview
This position develops and implements strategies that engage alumni in support of the University of Missouri, primarily through regional markets and Mizzou Alumni Association (MAA) programs. The role fosters meaningful connections among alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community partners, thereby strengthening pride, philanthropy, and advocacy for Mizzou.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programming that enhances alumni engagement in assigned regional markets, supporting MAA’s goal to ignite alumni passion, build a comprehensive regional engagement framework, and activate Mizzou’s powerful alumni network. This includes traveling throughout the year to execute and host engagement events.
- Recruit, train, and motivate alumni volunteers to support MAA’s engagement and advocacy goals. This includes serving as the MAA liaison for assigned regional chapters, affiliated organizations, and the Mizzou Ambassadors program—directly contributing to the plan’s priority of maximizing the inaugural year of the Ambassador program and developing champions for Mizzou.
- Manage MAA programs as assigned, including logistics for the Mizzou Ambassador program, Congrats Notes, and recruitment-related initiatives. These responsibilities support strategic priorities to foster a culture of service and philanthropy, elevate membership, and strengthen alumni parent engagement pathways.
- Foster collaboration with key campus stakeholders, such as Advancement, Athletics, and Admissions, to enhance outreach and forge strategic partnerships. This aligns with the plan’s emphasis on leveraging Board and campus relationships, revitalizing the brand through unified storytelling, and breaking from convention through innovative partnerships.
- Support MAA events and programs beyond the designated focus area (Homecoming, athletics events, signature traditions, etc.) to deliver meaningful Mizzou moments and reinforce pride. This advances strategic goals to inspire shared traditions, exceed alumni expectations, and contribute to meaningful Mizzou moments and elevated hospitality.
