Coordinator for Faculty Development
Coordinate and manage faculty development programming and engagement logistics, including orientations, faculty committees, and academic ceremonies.
- Manage and process faculty development related purchasing and reimbursements. Track and report to the Associate Provost on budgets (sources and uses of funds) for faculty development related activities (such as faculty research, travel, discretionary funds, CAFR grants) and support the work of the faculty development committees. (25%)
- Coordinate and manage all resources and logistical support for faculty development, programming and engagement. In collaboration with the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, responsible for communications about and execution of recurring and one-off faculty development programming including New Faculty Orientation, Department Chair Orientation, and faculty engagement opportunities, including provost and presidential committee participation, and relevant strategic initiatives. Assist the Associate Director of Faculty Support and Operations on campus-wide planning of academic ceremonies. (20%)
- In collaboration with the Associate Director of Faculty Support and Operations, support logistics of faculty promotions and adjunct faculty hiring. Assist in processes related to adjunct contracts and hiring. (15%)
- Responsible for web page and other communication needs for faculty development and hiring. In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Academic Communications serve as an additional editor for the Office of Academic Affairs and manage Academic Affairs committee webpage as well as Chairs and Director web pages. Assist in the posting of all faculty ads on the college career site. Advise with questions from applicants and reference providers. (15%)
- Serve as the representative of Academic Affairs for faculty development software purchased, utilized, and supported by the Office of Academic Affairs. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Faculty Support and Operations, help manage the faculty database for communication and tracking (Interfolio or similar software), and provide support for college reporting on faculty activities. (15%)
- Assist the Associate Director of Faculty Support and Operations in maintaining updates to the Faculty Handbook and accurate database/Banner information for faculty including but not limited to assigning new faculty members as instructors, managing terminal degree records, and updating new faculty records. Contribute to front office duties in tandem with the Coordinator of Academic Operations. (10%)
MARGINAL DUTIES:
- Perform all other duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
- Three to five years' previous administrative experience, preferably in higher education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of faculty development tools and software systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and prioritize assignments while managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to collaborate with others
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
